The Matrix

First, take a preview!

What is the Matrix?

What do you think?

"The Matrix," starring Keanu Reeves, plays like the last genre film ever--or the entire comic-book culture splashed across two hours. It's all in there: Kung Fu death matches, thousand-round gun battles, post-apocalyptic sci-fi, paranoid espionage thrillers, virtual reality, Spiderman's physics, and Batman's gothic look.

In addition, the biggest shock of "Matrix" is that it loses its weird hold on the audience only briefly. Most of the ride keeps a giddy momentum. Quite a few kicks, punches, and bullets are shown in a slow-motion mode...

Jet Li: Asian Pride

Romeo Must Die

When the first word, "Romeo," catches your eyes, do you ever think this movie is about a steamy romance tragedy? If yes, well, I'd better let "Romeo" himself say something:

See it? Romeo Must Die is entertaining as an action movie. If you're looking for a pure romance, you'll probably be disappointed. Romeo Must Die follows Han Sing (Jet Li), a tough ex-cop from Hong Kong who comes to the United States to avenge the death of his brother Po, a high-ranking member of a powerful Asian tong. As Han becomes enmeshed in a war between his brother's tong and a rival African-American gang, he also falls in love with the beautiful and rebellious daughter of the opposing gang's leader. Obviously, neither side approves of their romance, therefore, ...

Along with the accomplishments of "Black Mask(1999)"(see the trailer if you missed the movie) and "Romeo Must Die(2000)"(take a look at its poster) one after another, Jet Li, another Asian movie star, successfully enters Hollywood. His success shows that there has been a trend of Asian actors from Hong Kong cinema coming over to the U.S. (Jackie Chan, Chow Yun Fat, etc.). As an Asian, I'm very proud of them. And I bet all the Asians are wishing Jet Li, as well as other Asian stars in the U.S., to make more achievements in the future and to win honor for Asia.

Mission: Impossible II

This summer is Tom Cruise's!

"Mission: Impossible II," directed by John Woo, comes on the theaters in May, 2000.

Tom Cruise becomes well known after his performances in "Born on the Fourth of July," "Rain Man," and "Top Gun(listen to a great song)." Then, "Mission: Impossible(take a look at a few pictures from the movie)" corroborates his standing in the worldwide audience, especially in East Asia. Many female fans would die for having his signature. As of now, "Ethan Hunt" is back, leading his IMF team on a mission to capture a deadly German virus before it is released by terrorists...
